Drill Implement Codes

To determine the total drill implement code, start with the basic drill code and add the code for each additional attachment. Determine the TOTAL drill implement code for both EMPTY and FULL drill.

Total Drill Implement Codes

206

346

  1. Add all applicable drill implement codes.

  2. Use the total drill implement code to check tractor hitch capacity. See the tractor hitch lift code chart in this section.

  3. Refer to tractor front ballast code charts in this section to determine tractor front ballast requirements.

  4. Refer to load added to tractor rear axle chart in this section to check rear tire compatibility.

  5. Refer to tractor operator's manual for recommended tires.

Example:

  • Drill Configuration—4.6 m (15 ft) drill with 19 cm (7.5 in.) row spacing, with 4 x 12 single press wheels, and with markers. The drill will have an empty total implement code of 206 and a full total implement code of 346.
  • Tractor Configuration—A 7700 MFWD tractor equipped with a quick coupler hitch and with 18.4-42 2 star R1 dual tires on 76 cm (30 in.) center.
  • Refer to the tractor hitch lift codes. The code for a standard 7700 hitch is 430. Tractor hitch capacity is acceptable for a full implement code of 346.
  • Refer to the tractor front ballast codes. With the maximum fourteen front weights, the tractor code is 330. This is not acceptable. Adding fluid to the front tires increases the code by 58 points. 330 + 58 = 388. This is acceptable for an implement code of 346.
  • Refer to load added to tractor rear axle chart. An implement code of 346 adds approximately 4493 kg (9906 lb) to rear axle of tractor.
  • Refer to tractor operator's manual for specifications. A 7700 with a rear axle weight of 3810 kg (8400 lb) plus an implement weight of 4493 kg (9906 lb) would equal a total weight of 8303 kg (18 306 lb) on the rear tires. 18.4-42 2 star tires inflated to 103 kPa (1.03 bar) (15 psi) are capable of carrying this load.
