Adjusting Individual Opener Down-Pressure

   Position each depth adjusting handle (A) at desired seed depth. See ADJUSTING SEED DEPTH in this section.

2. There are two ways to increase opener down-pressure to compensate for track left by tire. First, tighten nut (B) in 6 mm (1/4 in.) increments until desired penetration is achieved. Second, remove pin (C) and turn clevis (D) to increase length of spring assembly.

   Initial Dimensions Are:

   	Dimension E	Dimension F
   Short	241 mm (9.5 in.)	351 mm (13.8 in.)
   Long	279 mm (11.0 in.)	446 mm (17.6 in.)

   When lengthening spring assembly by 6—13 mm (1/4—1/2 in.), install jam nut above clevis to lock clevis to bolt. Lengthening spring bolt assembly 6 mm (1/4 in.) will lower opener 19 mm (3/4 in.). Do NOT lengthen assembly more than 13 mm (1/2 in.). Lengthening assembly will decrease opener ground clearance when openers are raised.
