CAUTION: The blades are sharp. To avoid injury, DO NOT hold blades with bare hands. Use locking pliers to hold the blades when tightening and untightening.

The blades must turn freely. With inside scrapers disengaged, the blades should touch at contact point (A). With blades rotating, contact point (A) should have a maximum gap of 3.2 mm (1/8 in.).

Most new openers need two or three shims (B) on each disk bolt (C), while worn blades may require less. See REPLACING OPENER BLADES AND BEARINGS in Service section for replacement.
