    Upper Baffle Position

    A - Tab

    B - Lower Position

    C - Upper Position

Open vacuum meter. (See METER SETTINGS in this section.)

  2. NOTE: Lower position (B) is recommended for smaller seeds such as: sugar beets, sorghum, oil sunflower, and popcorn.

Upper position (C) is recommended for larger seeds such as: corn, soybeans, cotton, edible beans, peanuts, sweet corn, and confectionary sunflower.

Move tab (A) to the position recommended in the METER SETTINGS table in this section.

Seed bridging at meter inlet can result in long skips when planting. If this condition occurs, adjust baffle to upper position (C) and add talc lubricant generously.

NOTE: Lowering the baffle does NOT eliminate an overfilled vacuum meter caused by extremely rough field conditions. Increase down force on row unit and reduce planting speed to avoid overfilling.

If meters overfill or overpopulation occurs when planting on hillsides, reduce planting speed. Overfilled meters can occur when planting on hillsides. Overpopulation can occur on hillsides because the tabs on seed disks can hold and carry seed past the meter brush and into seed tube. When planting in hillside conditions, use round seeds and, in some conditions, flat seed disks to provide the best performance.
