Unfold and Fold Planters (Fold Assist Equipped Machines)

NOTE: These steps are based on the planter hydraulic system connected as recommended. See HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS RECOMMENDATIONS in Attach Machine section.

1. Press PLANT-TRANS switch to TRANS.

2. Hold TONGUE LIFT switch while activating SCV II to unlatch wings.

3. Hold TRANS LIFT switch while activating SCV II to lower machine from transport.

4. Hold TRANS LIFT switch while activating SCV I to lower wing wheels.

5. Activate SCV III to lower tongue until wing arms are unlocked.

6. NOTE: Allow tractor to roll as planter wings are unfolded.

   Hold FOLD switch while activating SCV II to unfold machine.

7. Hold TNG LATCH switch while activating SCV II to lock the hitch latch.

8. (DB120 only) To unfold winglets:

   • Press PLANT-TRANS switch to PLANT.
   • Place MARKER MODE switch in MANUAL position.
   • Press MARKER L switch and activate SCV II to lower left-hand winglet.
   • Press MARKER R switch and activate SCV II to lower right-hand winglet.
   • Place MARKER MODE switch in AUTO position.
   
   

9. To service, install center frame service locks (G) and wing service locks (H).

10. (DB120 only) Row Cleaners On Winglets: Set row cleaner gauge (I) to same number as row cleaners on main frame.

Fold Machine:

IMPORTANT: (DB 120 only) Avoid damage when folding. Adjust unit mount row cleaners on winglet row units. Maintain a minimum of 69 kPa (0.7 bar) (10 psi) in pneumatic down force system (if equipped).

1. (DB120 only) Row Cleaners On Winglets: Ensure unit mounted row cleaners are not in uppermost setting. Lower row cleaners until gauge (A) is within numbered range before folding winglets. Pressurize pneumatic down force system to minimum setting of 69 kPa (0.7 bar) (10 psi).

2. (DB120 only) To fold winglets:

   • Place MARKER MODE switch in MANUAL position.
   • Press MARKER L switch and activate SCV II to raise left-hand winglet.
   • Press MARKER R switch and activate SCV II to raise right-hand winglet.
   • Place MARKER MODE switch in AUTO position.
   • Check outer wing row unit hoppers, meters, and seed tube components for any trapped precipitation or debris that may have entered while in the folded position. Clean components as necessary before operation.
   
   

3. Press PLANT-TRANS switch to PLANT. Activate SCV I to raise machine.

4. Press PLANT-TRANS switch to TRANS.

5. Hold TNG LATCH switch while activating SCV II to unlock the hitch latch.

6. NOTE: Allow tractor to roll as planter wings are folded.

   Hold FOLD switch while activating SCV II to fold machine.

7. Hold TONGUE LIFT switch while activating SCV II to retract the fold assist cylinder and draw the wings into the folded position.

8. Activate SCV III to raise tongue until wing arms are locked over hitch.

9. Hold TRANS LIFT switch while activating SCV I to raise wing wheels until they contact each other.

10. Hold TRANS LIFT switch while activating SCV II to raise machine into transport position.
