Vacuum Level for Corn Using H136478, A43215, A50617 or A52391 Seed Disks

A60563
A60563-UN-08AUG07

A - Vacuum Level (Inches of Water)

B - Seeds Per Pound

C - Pounds in Seed Bag (80 000 seeds)

D - Small Seed

E - Large Seed

F - Sunflower/Popcorn Disk

G - Small Corn Disk

H - Standard Corn Disk

I - ProMax 40 Disk

Use information from seed supplier to calculate seeds per pound.

IMPORTANT: The proper vacuum level must be calculated for each seed variety. Calculate seeds per pound by dividing the number of seeds in bag by the weight of bag.

EXAMPLE: If there are 1889 seeds/lb, the chart indicates a vacuum level of 11 in. with Small Corn Disk.

IMPORTANT: Vacuum levels are a starting point. Perform a field check and adjust level to obtain proper population.

Sticky seed treatments, rough ground conditions, and high ground speeds require higher vacuum levels.

Select the Small Corn Disk initially when seed sizes overlap the Small Corn Disk (A43215) and the Standard Corn Disk (A50617) levels in chart. If population is difficult to control, switch to Standard Corn Disk.
