A - Latch Control Levers

B - Category 3 Center Link Top Hook

Raise both latch control levers (A). Category 3 center link top hook (B) must be installed on quick coupler.

1720 CCS only: Use one of the 2 hitching methods below.

  1. Verify tractor hitch 3rd link is pinned in the lower hole. Adjust the 3rd link to minimum length. Attach quick coupler to planter using lower 2 hooks only.
  2. For uneven terrain, attach quick coupler to planter pinning all 3 hooks. Remove tractor hitch 3rd link to allow maximum articulation between the planter and tractor.

IMPORTANT: Use caution when crossing ditches or valleys to be sure planter does not contact the rear of the tractor.

A - Hitch Control Lever

B - Hitch Control Switch

To prevent possible injury, do not use hitch control switch (B) while attaching machine. Hitch control switch is only used for raising and lowering in the field only.

Lower rockshaft using hitch control lever (A) until the quik-coupler hooks are lower than the machine hitch pins. Slowly back the tractor up to the machine.

Check drawbar clearance. If drawbar contacts coupler or machine, turn drawbar offset down and in shortest possible position.

CAUTION: When latches are properly locked, handles must be horizontal and against coupler frame.

Raise the rockshaft using hitch control lever (A) enough to engage the machine hitch pins in the quik-coupler hooks. Push both latch control levers down to lock the machine to the quik-coupler.

CCS planters only: Either pin top hook of quick hitch to planter mast and remove tractor 3rd link or use only the 2 lower points and shorten tractor 3rd link to shortest length.

NOTE: Check tractor dual wheel tire clearance.
