Change Row Widths

Row widths cannot be changed on machines with 70 cm (27.5 in.), 76 cm (30 in.) or 91.4 cm (36 in.) row spacing.

To change row widths, proceed as follows:

1. Empty hoppers and lower machine to the ground.

2. NOTE: The drive-gauge wheels are factory set to machine order. When changing row spacing, move drive-gauge wheels accordingly.

   Loosen drive-gauge wheel U-bolts (A), ratchet set screw (B) and planting units U-bolts (C).

3. Place each inside planting unit so center of unit is half the desired row width from center of planting frame.

4. Place other units at the desired row width.

5. Torque drive gauge wheel U-bolts (A), and planting unit U-bolts (C) to shown specifications. Tighten ratchet set screw (B) securely.

6. Check all drive components for interference. Check planting unit openers to ensure seed tubes and openers are free of dirt or other foreign material.

IMPORTANT: There must be light contact between ratchet sprocket and ratchet dog assembly. Be certain ratchet sprocket turns freely after moving wheel.

Drive chain must align properly with ratchet sprocket on countershaft. Loosen sprocket set screws and locate sprocket as needed. Tighten set screws.
