Avoid injury. Row cleaner blades are sharp. Safely support machine before service.

The function of the row cleaner is to sweep aside residue without moving soil.

Ground conditions, depth adjustment, and ground speed affect the width of path cleared.

Operate at sufficient speed 6.5—9.5 km/h (4—6 mph) to maintain good residue flow.

Do not expect 100% removal of crop residue. Complete residue removal is not necessary. Complete removal requires engagement of soil, which is not recommended.

Expect cleaners to stop turning occasionally when row cleaners are properly adjusted above soil surface.

Adjust planter frame height and level planter for proper row cleaner operation (See Prepare Machine section).

Turn knob (A) to adjust one row cleaner to engage residue and not soil. Test for proper operation and continue to adjust until height is correct. View depth gauge (B) and set remaining row cleaners to same setting. Verify correct operation of all row cleaners.

Adjust row unit down force to match residue conditions and maintain desired seed depth. Avoid operation in excessively rocky conditions. Contact with obstacles can raise entire row unit and alter seed depth.

If the residue clearing action is too aggressive, standard tine tooth wheels are available from your dealer.
