Fertilizer Distribution Tube


Replacing Worn or Damaged Distribution Tube

To replace worn or damaged distribution tubes complete the following procedures:

    A - Fitting Ring

    B - Manifold

    C - Tube

    Push in fitting ring (A) at manifold (B) and remove tube (C).

    B - Check Valve

    C - Tube

    Push in fitting ring (A) at check valve (B) and remove tube (C).

    A - Nut

    B - Hose Clamp

    C - Tube

    Loosen nuts (A) on all hose clamps (B) at all locations for tube (C) being replaced.



  4. Remove tube (C) from hose clamps (B).

  5. Measure tube length before discarding.

  6. NOTE: Add 25.4 mm (1 in.) to overall tube length for trimming and chamfering.

    Cut new tube to length.

    B - Tube Cutter

    Trim each end of tube (A) square with tube cutter (B) or similar device. Ensure that end of tubing is not crushed.

    A - Chamfer Tool

    B - Tube

    Using a chamfer tool (A) (a pencil sharpener works well), chamfer each end of tube (B).



  9. Route tube from manifold to opener inserting tube in appropriate hose clamps.

    B - Fitting

    Push each end of tube (A) fully into fittings (B). Pull tube to ensure that it is locked into fitting.

    B - Hose Clamp

    Tighten nut (A) on hose clamps (B).



  12. Prime system and check for leaks. (See PRIMING AND INITIAL STARTUP OF PUMP in System Overview section.)


Fix Distribution Tube Connection Leak

To fix a distribution tube connection leak complete the following procedures:

    C - Tube

    Push in fitting ring (A) at connection points (B). and pull out tube (C).

    B - Tube Cutter

    Trim end of tube (A) square with tube cutter (B) or similar device. Ensure that end of tubing is not crushed.
