Replace or Clean BrushBelt ™ Cartridge Components

  1. NOTE: Periodically clean the seed sensor area inside BrushBelt ™. Dusty conditions or heavily treated seed cause an excessive buildup of dust and seed treatment inside the BrushBelt ™ which blocks the seed sensor. When seed sensor becomes blocked, false low population counts or false low limit warnings appear.

    Remove BrushBelt™ delivery cartridge. (See Install And Remove BrushBelt ™ Delivery Cartridge in previous section.)



  2. Pull back tabs (A) to remove upper cartridge cover (B) on BrushBelt ™.

  3. Pull back tabs (A) to remove lower cartridge cover (C) on BrushBelt ™.

    B - BrushBelt ™

    Turn BrushBelt ™ tensioner (A) counterclockwise to remove spring tension. Remove BrushBelt ™ (B) from cartridge.



  5. IMPORTANT: Do not plant again until all interior seed belt surfaces are dry.

    IMPORTANT: To avoid false readings from seed sensors in the BrushBelt ™ cartridge, center wear liner tab must be inserted in the seed sensor slot as shown.

    NOTE: If moisture enters the seed belt during a rain or when machine is washed along with dust in the seed belt becomes mud.

    Clean area for seed sensor (A). If moisture is present or dry residue is difficult to remove with a dry brush, use mild detergent and water with brush. Seed belt surfaces must dry before use.



  6. Replace seed sensor as needed with following steps:

    • Slide seed sensor from BrushBelt ™ cartridge as shown.
    • Remove and retain screws (B) from sensor.
    • Remove sensor cover (C) from sensor.
    • Remove and retain gasket (D) from inside sensor. Replace gasket as needed.
    • Install gasket and sensor cover with screws.
    • Install center wear liner tab (E) in the seed sensor slot (F) as shown, when sliding seed sensor back into BrushBelt ™ cartridge.

    Locate upper wear liner (A), center wear liner (B), and lower wear liner (C) on the BrushBelt ™ cartridge



  8. Check over wear liners for wear or damage (D).

    Replace inserts using the following process:

    • Pull upper wear liner (A) or lower wear liner (C) to remove from cartridge position.
    • Straighten retainment tabs (E) on center wear liner (B).
    • To remove from cartridge position, pull center wear liner .
    • Press retainment tabs and alignment tabs (D) into cartridge to install center wear liner in position correctly.
    • Fold retainment tabs on center wear liner.
    • Press alignment tabs into cartridge to install upper or lower wear liners in position correctly as shown.

    Check BrushBelt ™ for wear and damage (A). Replace BrushBelt ™ as needed.



  11. Check brush reconditioner (B) for damage. Replace reconditioner as needed.

  12. Reinstall BrushBelt ™ into cartridge.

  13. Reinstall upper and lower cartridge covers.

  14. Reinstall BrushBelt ™ delivery cartridge. (See Install And Remove BrushBelt ™ Delivery Cartridge in previous section.)
