Improve meter accuracy and minimize seed damage with a properly adjusted meter hub. Check this adjustment whenever seed bowls are changed. If there is a gap between seed bowl and meter housing (B) or if bowl is difficult to turn, adjust meter hub as follows.

  1. Open vacuum meter.

  2. Turn hub handle (A) counterclockwise. Remove seed bowl.

    Remove spring clip (A).


  4. Adjust vacuum meter hub (B).

    • Make small adjustments.
    • Thread vacuum meter hub (B) clockwise to move seed bowl closer to meter housing.
    • Thread vacuum meter hub (B) counterclockwise to move seed bowl away from meter housing.

  5. Align slot in hub with hole in shaft and install spring clip (A).

    Install seed bowl (A) and lock hub handle (B).


  7. Inspect adjustment.

    1. Spin and release bowl rapidly by hand.

    2. Observe distance bowl rotates. If bowl rotates approximately a quarter revolution and stops, hub is adjusted properly.

    3. Repeat hub adjustment until correct.

  8. IMPORTANT: Avoid warped bowls. Do not store bowls in meters. Do not store under heavy items or hang from seed cell. Store away from high heat and sunlight.

    Rotate bowl slowly by hand and observe bowl contact with housing in area (C). If a gap (large enough for seed to wedge between bowl and housing) is apparent as bowl is rotated, bowl replacement is recommended.
