    A - Hardware

    B - Hardware

    C - Hitch Tube Ends

    D - Flat Washers

Loosen hardware (A) at cross-support outer brackets.

  4. Remove hardware (B) from cross-support center connections.

  5. NOTE: Loosen tube to frame hardware before the following step.

Spread hitch tube ends (C) into alignment with rear bar brackets (previously installed on seeding tool).

  6. NOTE: Final attachment and tightening of cross-support can be delayed until hitch tubes are attached to rear bar brackets.

Extend both sides equally, align holes in cross-support brackets, and attach with previously removed hardware (B). Use additional flat washers (D) (provided) to fill gap between upper bracket and connecting strap. Lower bracket rests flat on strap and does not need spacer washers. Leave hardware loose until instructed to tighten.

  7. Slide cross-support assembly as far forward as possible and tighten hardware (A) at cross-support outer brackets.

  8. Tighten hardware at cross-support center connections.

    A - Arm

    B - Hitch Bracket

    C - Drilled Pin

    D - Hitch Tubes

    E - Drilled Pin

    F - Drilled Pin

Steps 9—13 Except 1830, 1835: Install new arms (A) provided on hitch brackets (B) with drilled pins (C) and quick-lock pins.

  10. CAUTION: Do not stand between air cart and implement while machines are in motion. Use a signal person to direct tractor and seeding tool movement. Seeding tool obstructs tractor operator's view of seed cart hitch points. Know hand signals and what each signal means before moving. Follow directions from signal person to avoid a crushing accident.

Back seeding tool toward cart and align hitch tubes (D) with arms (A).

  11. NOTE: Hitch tubes attach in top holes on arms.

When top holes in arms and hitch tubes align, install drilled pin (E) and quick-lock pins.

  12. With both hitch tubes attached to arms, back seeding tool toward cart to raise arms to vertical position.

  13. When middle holes in arms and hitch brackets align, install drilled pin (F) and quick-lock pins.

    A - Hitch Tubes

    B - Arms

    C - Drilled Pin

Steps 14—15 Only 1830, 1835: Back seeding tool toward cart and align hitch tubes (A) with arms (B).

  15. NOTE: Hitch tubes attach in top holes on arms.

When top holes in arms and hitch tubes align, install drilled pin (C) and quick-lock pins.

  16. CAUTION: If accidental separation occurs while transporting, safety chains help control equipment . A runaway machine could cause severe injury or death to a motorist, bystander, or the operator. Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach chains to the seeder cart hitch and rear bar of seeding tool. Provide only enough slack in chain to permit turning. See your John Deere dealer for chains with a strength rating equal to or greater than the gross weight of the towed machine.

    A - Hitch Cross-Support

If not already done, assembly and adjustment of hitch cross-support (A) can now be finished and hardware tightened. Refer to Steps 6 and 7 for details.

  18. Tighten all hardware.

  19. IMPORTANT: Avoid improper product placement, connect primaries as described. Air cart controller is pre-programmed and cannot be operated properly with hoses routed incorrectly.

NOTE: Fertilizer primaries are green hoses. Seed primaries are black hoses.

Fertilizer is on the top shoot of a double shoot cart and connects to top couplers on tool.

Seed is on the bottom shoot of a double shoot cart and connects to bottom couplers on tool.

Protect hoses from damage. Line hose cradles (A) with 2.5 in. hose (E) (as shown) and cover all sharp edges.

Hydraulic hoses or electrical harnesses are routed through clamps (F) mounted on lower cradles.
