Empty Tank

  1. MANUAL CONVEYANCE ARM ONLY: Set arm position lock pin into appropriate hole based on the table for the machine and tank being emptied.

    Fill

    1. Unlock Swing Arm and Swing Link

    2. Position Auger/Conveyor between tanks with spout at angle.

    3. Lock in desired position only if windy or on slope.

  2. MANUAL CONVEYANCE ARM ONLY: Disengage swing link lock.

  3. Place hopper under meter cleanout panels.

  4. IMPORTANT: Should disconnect handles feel jammed or locked up, working the handles up-and-down loosens caked-on residue that prevents smooth operation. Use short up-and-down strokes at the start. .

    A - Half-Width Disconnect Handles

    Push both half-width disconnect handles (A) up to close off meter feed passages.

    Remove cover plate (A) located on underside of manifold.



  6. NOTE: Air carts with 3 m (9 ft. 10 in.) tire spacing. Rotate cartridge handle to clear tire.

    Rotate cam lock handle (A) up. To disengage cam (B) from cartridge handle (C), pull handle toward front of machine.



  7. Turn cartridge (D) counterclockwise to release handle (C) from lock plate (E).

  8. Pull meter assembly from housing.

    A - Cleanout Plug

    Remove cleanout plug (A) from storage position and install in meter housing.



  10. On stationary double-shoot machine, verify that slide is set to lower set of product runs.

  11. NOTE: Product flows when handles are pushed down.

    A - Half-Width Disconnect Handles

    Push left half-width disconnect (A) (closest to auger hopper) down to open meter feed passage. This allows the left side of the tank to empty, reducing the potential to spill seed. Operate auger control valve to empty hopper until product flow stops.

    Push right half-width disconnect (A) down to open right meter feed passage. Operate auger control valve to empty hopper until product flow stops.



  13. If complete cleanout is desired, refer to METER CLEANOUT PROCEDURE in Service section.

  14. NOTE: When closing cleanout panels, slide panels to the outside of meter housing before locking. If panels are to the inside, half-width disconnect levers can bind on panels and not open or close completely when operated.

    When finished emptying, check seals on cleanout panels and return to meter housing. Position panels to the outside, push against housing and rotate levers (B) to lock in place.
