Inspect and Service SectionCommand™ System

Clear Warning from Monitor

1. Stop tractor.

2. Document warning information.

3. Acknowledge warning with button on screen.

4. From the Air Cart Main screen, select the Main softkey to open the SectionCommand™ run screen.

5. Select button that corresponds to the gate twice to close and open the gate.

6. Wait over 4 seconds for condition to clear.

7. Toggle the same gate by selecting button again.

8. Wait 1 second for warning to appear.

9. Does warning occur again?

• Yes: Go to (Inspect Meter Gates).
• No: Continue seeding.

Inspect Meter Gates

1. Turn off tractor engine.

2. Close half-width disconnect handles.

3. Unplug gate detection sensor from harness.

4. Gently attempt to remove cartridge to inspect gates.

5. Can cartridge be removed?

   • Yes: Continue with procedure.
   • No: Go to (Clear Hydraulic Contamination).
   
   

6. While on a flat surface turn over cartridge.

7. Inspect bottom of cartridge for debris.

8. Manually push gates closed and release.

9. Visually inspect the product channels in the meter housing for blockage.

10. Is there debris in the meter keeping the gates from closing freely?

• Yes: Clean meter cartridge and continue seeding.
• No: Go to (Test Actuators Extend).

Clear Hydraulic Contamination

1. Visually inspect the actuators to verify actuator function.

2. From the Air Cart Main screen, select the Main softkey to open the SectionCommand™ run screen.

3. Cycle gates on and off repeatedly by pressing the individual section button.

4. Does warning occur again?

• Yes: See your local John Deere Dealer.
• No: Continue seeding.

Test Actuators Extend

1. With the meter cartridge out, return to the tractor cab.

2. From the Air Cart Main screen press the Main softkey to enter the SectionCommand™ run screen.

3. Press the individual section buttons to engage all of the actuators and return to the cart.

4. Did all of the actuators extend properly?

• Yes: Go to (Test Actuators Retract).
• No: See your local John Deere Dealer.

Test Actuators Retract

1. With the meter cartridge out, return to the tractor cab.

2. From the Air Cart Main screen press the Main softkey to enter the SectionCommand™ run screen.

3. Press the individual section buttons to disengage all of the actuators and return to the cart.

4. Did all of the actuators retract properly?

• Yes: Go to (Electrical Test).
• No: See your local John Deere Dealer.

Electrical Test

1. Reinstall meter cartridge and plug in gate detection sensor.

2. From the Air Cart Main screen press the Main softkey to enter the SectionCommand™ run screen.

3. Press the individual section buttons to engage all of the actuators.

4. Wait 4 seconds and press the individual section buttons again to disengage all of the actuators.

5. Does warning occur again?

• Yes: Go to (Test Gate Detection Sensor).
• No: Continue seeding.

Test Gate Detection Sensor

1. Remove failed meter cartridge, and swap with a known good cartridge.

2. Did errors continue with new cartridge?

• Yes: Possible Gate Detection Sensor failure, see your local John Deere Dealer.
• No: See your local John Deere Dealer for further troubleshooting.
