Population Rate Chart Based On Seeds Per Pound

NOTE: Meters deliver volume of seed, not specific population. Delivery rates vary up to 10 percent from rate chart values due to; seed characteristics, drive wheel circumference, operator judgment, and machine settings. Always perform calibration and verification checks to determine exact application.

1. Locate seeds per pound on seed package label. Locate value on left-hand side of chart.

2. Locate desired (thousands) seeds per acre under Desired Population heading on chart.

3. Locate where the seeds per pound row and the desired population column meet in the table. This number is the pounds of seed to apply on each acre in order to achieve desired population.

   EXAMPLE: Seed label shows 2050 seeds per pound. Desired population is 190 000 seeds per acre. The number 93 is in the cell where 2050 row and 190 column meet. Set target rate to apply 93 pounds of seed per acre.
