Shift the PowrQuad Plus Transmission

LX1047092-UN-13AUG08

LX1047094-UN-13AUG08
A - Range-shift lever
B - Gear-shift buttons
C - Reverser lever
D - Declutch switch
Gears are shifted using shift lever (A), gear-shift buttons
(B) and reverser lever (C). The clutch is operated via declutch switch
(D).
To change the ranges, the clutch pedal must be depressed or
the declutch switch must be actuated. There is no need to actuate
the clutch to shift gears or to change the direction of travel. When
changing ranges, an automatic function ensures that the gear selected
matches the engine speed and travel speed.
CAUTION: If the reverser lever is moved out of neutral when
the engine is running and a range is selected, the tractor will start
to move.
IMPORTANT: Engage park only when the tractor is stationary.
NOTE: If the range shift lever is moved to its park position
while the reverser lever is not in its neutral position, three acoustic
signals are triggered and the letter “N” starts to flash.
If the range shift lever is moved out of its park position again while
the reverser lever is not in its neutral position, three acoustic
signals are triggered again. When the engine is shut off,
the reverser lever remains in its selected position but the transmission
shifts into neutral. Once the engine is restarted, the letter “N”
begins to flash to draw attention to this situation. To make the tractor
move, first put the reverser lever in neutral and then move it to
the desired position.
If a direction of travel is selected via the reverser lever
and the range shift lever is in its park position, an acoustic warning
is triggered.
NOTE: If an electrical defect is detected at the reverser lever,
the “N” light begins to flash and the tractor cannot be
driven, regardless of which position the reverser lever is in. If the reverser lever detects an invalid position, after a certain
period of time it shifts the transmission into neutral (the delay
is for safety reasons). The letter “N” lights up.
Once the engine has started, wait for 5 seconds before moving
the reverser lever out of neutral position.
Hand clutch
Press button (D), the clutch separates. Ranges may be selected
or the tractor can be halted.
Release button (D), the clutch engages with modulation. On tractors
equipped with a seat switch (operator presence switch), the following
applies: If, within the last 3 seconds before the button is released,
there was no weight on the seat and no actuation of the clutch pedal
or brake pedal, the tractor does not move, even although the reverser
lever is in the forward or reverse position. To make the tractor move,
move the reverser lever to neutral and then back into the desired
direction.
NOTE: The hand clutch is not suitable “creeping”
up to an implement.
The hand clutch can be activated and de-activated at address
EPC167. See “Customization” in the “Diagnostic Trouble
Codes and Customization” section.
Upper limit for engine speed

LX1047099-UN-13AUG08
Maximum engine speed can be limited for certain work (e.g. PTO
operation) using potentiometer (A). Move the hand throttle lever to
full throttle, then reduce engine speed using potentiometer (A).
In the lowest setting, engine speed is limited to 1100 rpm.
In the highest setting, the engine can run at maximum speed. Individual
engine speed limits can be set between these two positions.
If no PTO operation is taking place, potentiometer (A) should
be in its maximum speed position or in the “Off” position.
Optimum gear-shifting for driving under load (transport):
-
Select a range suitable for driving under load.
-
Engage the first gear.
-
Drive and shift up through the ranges until the top range is
reached.
-
Shift up through the gears.
Cold-weather operation
If the oil is cold (0° C, 32° F), it may affect how
the reverser lever operates. At temperatures below -10° C (14°
F) , it may take longer to change the direction of travel.
In certain circumstances, the reverser lever may have to be
actuated several times before the tractor starts to move. When the
oil has had time to warm up, operation becomes normal again.
"Come-home" mode
Under certain circumstances, the tractor can still be driven
in “come-home” mode even if there is an electrical fault
in the transmission.
To do this, stop the engine, remove plug K01/04 (relay box K01)
and re-install it at a position 90° from its original position.
The wording “Come Home” must be on top.
The acoustic warning is continuous while the tractor is being
driven.
NOTE: In the come-home mode, engine speed is limited to 1500
rpm and only the first gear in each range is available. The hand clutch
is NOT available.
