This type of hitch can be operated using the hitch controls and one selective control valve.

1. Connect hydraulic hoses (A) to the quick-couplers and start the engine.

2. Raise the draft links as high as they will go.

3. Pull release lever (B) and stop.

4. Lower the draft links and release lever (B) while the draft links are still moving downward (the lever remains in the open position).

5. Extend the hitch hook fully by actuating the selective control valve.

6. Lower draft links/hitch to desired height under the towing eye of the trailer.

7. Raise the draft links and engage the hitch hook in the towing eye of the trailer. Raise the draft links as high as they will go.

8. Retract the hitch hook fully by means of selective control valve until it is fully locked (lever (B) returns to its starting position).

9. Lower the draft links.

10. Check that the hitch is locked correctly. It will not lower when the draft links are lowered and not extend when the selective control valve is operated.

IMPORTANT: If the release lever is hard to operate or locking the hitch hook is not performed automatically (step 3 or step 8 above), have your John Deere dealer check the setting of the lift links or of the pick-up hitch hook.

With the hitch lowered, NEVER reach into the receiver opening (see arrow). Risk of injury!

NOTE: Pick-up hitch components that are subject to wear have to be checked every 250 hours (see Service / Every 250 Hours). Replace them if necessary.
