Ground Speed PTO (Optional Equipment)

LX1048386-UN-27JUL09

LX1048486-UN-27JUL09
IMPORTANT: Do NOT engage or disengage the ground speed PTO under
load. Maximum speed for switching on or off: 3 km/h (1.6 mph).
Maximum travel speed with ground speed PTO switched on: 15 km/h
(8.1 mph).
The ground speed PTO can be switched on and off only with lever (A). Raise the lock to switch on; do NOT raise
the lock to switch off. Light (B) comes on when the ground speed PTO
is engaged. The PTO has a transmission ration of 21.8:1. This means
that the PTO turns 21.8 times for each rotation of the rear axle.
The distance travelled for each rotation of the PTO varies depending
on tire size.
In contrast to the two other types of PTO (540E/540), clutch
(C) must not be actuated.
CAUTION: When an implement is connected to the ground speed
PTO, lever (A) must be in neutral or the position for ground speed
PTO; the lever must not be in the 540 or 540E positions. Pay attention to the direction in which the PTO stub shaft rotates.
The PTO stub shaft changes the direction in which it rotates depending
on whether the tractor is travelling forward or reversing.
The ground speed PTO remains engaged until lever (A) is moved
manually to neutral. The ground speed PTO remains active if it is
already engaged when the engine is restarted; it starts to rotate
as soon as the vehicle moves.
