Start the Engine
CAUTION:
Never operate the engine in a closed building. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation. Danger of asphyxiation!
1.
Set selective control valve levers (A) to neutral position.
2.
Move hand throttle lever (B) to a medium speed setting (first third of lever travel).
3.
Set reverser lever (C) to neutral position (or to positions N or P on tractors with AutoPowr).
4.
Turn key in main switch (D) one position to the right. Wait until light (E) goes out.
5.
Turn key in main switch (D) clockwise to end position. As soon as engine starts, release key.
Do not operate starting motor for more than 30 seconds at a time. Turn key in main switch to zero. Wait at least one minute before attempting to start again.
After starting the engine, wait 2 seconds before operating switches or controls since the electronic system of the tractor is checked.
Run the tractor at medium load to warm up the engine.
NOTE:
The engine control unit (ECU) allows the engine to run at a higher slow idle speed (1050 rpm) until coolant temperature reaches 20°C (68°F).
NOTE:
The fan runs at a higher speed after the engine has been started, as the compressed air tank of the trailer brake needs to be filled.
