Fill tank.

Switch on ignition switch and listen to the pump noises to make sure the fuel pump is working.

Fuel filter contaminated

Change the filter

 

Engine oil too viscous

Use oil of correct viscosity

 

Faulty glow plugs

Have them checked by your dealer.

Engine knocking

Insufficient oil in engine

Top up oil.

Engine overheating

Insufficient coolant level

Fill radiator to prescribed level. Check cooling system for leaks.

 

Loose or defective fan V-belt

Check belt and replace, if necessary.

 

Cooling system contaminated

Drain, flush and refill cooling system.

 

Oil cooler or protective grille contaminated

Clean oil cooler and grille.

 

Defective thermostat

Remove and check thermostat

Engine oil pressure too low

Engine oil level too low

Top up oil.

High oil consumption

Oil of too low viscosity

Drain and top up with oil of correct viscosity.

 

Leaking

Check oil lines and gaskets.

High fuel consumption

Unsuitable fuel

Use proper fuel.

 

Incorrect valve adjustment

Fuel injection nozzles soiled or damaged
