Front PTO - Change Oil Filter (if equipped)

Take out oil drain screw (A) and drain the oil into a suitable
container.
NOTE: If oil smells burnt or has a very dark appearance, it
needs to be changed. If swarf or similar particles become apparent
when the filter is changed, the PTO clutch must be reconditioned by
your John Deere dealer.
Remove screws (D) and (E).
Remove snap ring (B) and cover (C).
Replace the oil filter.
Put a new seal ring on cover (C) and make sure it is seated
correctly.
Install cover (C) and snap ring (B).
Remembering to include a new seal, install the oil drain screw
and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb.-ft.).
Add clean transmission/hydraulic oil to the PTO housing through
screw bore (E) until oil emerges from screw bore (D).
Remembering to include a new seal, install screw (D) and tighten
to 20 N·m (15 lb.-ft.).
Remembering to include a new seal, install screw (E) and tighten
to 40 N·m (30 lb.-ft.).
