NOTE: On tractors with front PTO, the drive belt must be replaced
by your John Deere™ dealer.
Pull the catch and lift the hood up.
CAUTION: Disconnect ground cable (—) from battery.
Use a square-section key to turn the tensioning roller (C) (see
arrow) until holes (A) in the base plate and cam are in alignment.
Insert a 5 mm (0.2 in.) dia. metal pin (B) into the two bores that
are in alignment and secure the tensioning roller.
Take the six screws (D) out of the fan.
Take drive belt (E) off over fan (F).
Install the drive belt according to belt routing and slacken
drive belt tensioner again.
For tensioning, turn tensioner roll slightly to release metal
pin and pull it from the holes. The drive belt tensioner returns to
its tensioning position automatically.
IMPORTANT: When installing, always use new corrugated-head screws.
Put on fan (F) and tighten the new corrugated-head screws (D)
