CAUTION: Avoid injury. Never operate tractor with loose wheel bolts. Wheel bolts are critical and require retightening.

IMPORTANT: The distance between the side wall of the tire and the fender must not be less than 40 mm (1.57 in.)¹.

The distance between the running surface (edge) of the tire and the fender must not be less than 60 mm (2.36 in.)¹.

If snow chains are installed on the tires, the minimum distance from the tires to the fenders (side wall to fender and running surface to fender) must be 100 mm (3.94 in.).

IMPORTANT: Do not use clamp-on style duals when the tractor is equipped with steel wheels and flanged axle.

Tighten sleeve attaching bolts

1. Install sleeve attaching bolts (C) and tighten to 204 N∙m (150 lb.-ft.).
2. Then retighten to 410 N∙m (300 lb.-ft.).
3. Drive tractor about 100 m (110 yd), then tighten bolts (C) to 600 N∙m (445 lb.-ft.).
4. Retighten bolts after operating 3 HOURS and 10 HOURS.

IMPORTANT: When loosening sleeve attaching bolts (C), both sleeve halves must be tightened evenly to prevent the hub from cracking or the bolts from becoming loose.

Tighten bolts for fastening cast wheel to rim

Rear wheel rims 38 in. and larger have one bolt hole smaller than the others and one slotted hole exactly opposite each other.

1. Install bolt in tight-fit hole and tighten by hand.
2. Install bolt in slot-fit hole and tighten by hand.
3. Install remaining bolts hand tight, then tighten all cast wheel-to-rim bolts to 600 N∙m (445 lb.-ft.).
4. Retighten bolts after operating 100 meters, 3 HOURS and 10 HOURS.

C — Sleeve Attaching Bolts

... Tightening Bolts, Stage 1..............204 N∙m (150 lb.-ft.)

... Tightening Bolts, Stage 2..............410 N∙m (300 lb.-ft.)

... Tightening Bolts, Final Stage..............600 N∙m (445 lb.-ft.)

D — Bolts, Rim to Cast Wheel..............600 N∙m (445 lb.-ft.)

E — Bolts, Steel Wheel to Hub..............600 N∙m (445 lb.-ft.)
