Changing to a Different Tire Size
Changing to a different tire size can have various consequences:
-
The indicated speed is less than the actual speed.
-
Error messages when using a radar
-
Increased wear of tires and front-wheel drive clutch
-
Strain in the drive train
IMPORTANT: Any change of tire combination must
conform to a combination authorized for that particular tractor. Note
that it may be necessary to alter the transmission ratio. Further
information on tire combinations and for calculating the transmission
ratio can be found in this section of the operator's manual.
Also note that when tire size is changed certain tractor models
will require the oil sight-glass to be changed. See your John Deere
dealer™ for this as well.
When changing to a different tire size, an adjustment of the
top speed is always necessary. Have this task performed by your John
Deere™ dealer immediately after the tires are changed. In case
the tractor is equipped with RADAR, a recalibration must be performed
by your John Deere™ dealer.
