Exhaust Cleaning System, General Information

LX205072-UN-04SEP13
The tractor is equipped with an efficient exhaust filter system.
Sensors monitor the condition of the exhaust system and initiate the
cleaning process when soot level on exhaust filter becomes excessive.
-
Passive exhaust filter cleaning always
occurs when the engine is at moderate or high loads.
-
Automatic exhaust filter cleaning is
started when soot in the exhaust filter reaches a certain level.
-
Manually initiated Parked Filter Cleaning enables the operator to start the cleaning process manually when
a corresponding message appears on CommandCenter.
-
Service cleaning requires you to contact
your John Deere dealer.
More information on exhaust filter cleaning can be found on
the following pages.
IMPORTANT: Recommended practice is to keep automatic exhaust
filter cleaning activated. See relevant text in this section. Comply with safety instructions; see Clean
Exhaust Filter Safely in Section 05.
An indicator light comes on to show that the exhaust filter
is currently being cleaned (see arrow).
Tips for avoiding the build-up of soot:
-
Activate automatic exhaust filter cleaning.
-
Avoid unnecessary idling.
-
Do not interrupt cleaning process unless it is absolutely necessary.
-
If possible, do not shut off the engine while the indicator
light for exhaust filter cleaning is on.
-
Use only ultra low sulfur fuel (see Fuel, Lubricants, Hydraulic
Oil and Coolant Section for recommendations).
-
Take note of the information displayed for the operator, and
act accordingly.
