Parked Filter Cleaning cannot be performed unless the engine control unit registers a rising soot level at the exhaust filter. In such a case, the relevant information is displayed to the operator, and this information must noted. See points 1 and 2 at Exhaust Cleaning System, Information for Operator in this Section. Time required for Parked Filter Cleaning is dependent upon the exhaust filter soot level, ambient temperature and current exhaust gas temperature. Parked Filter Cleaning may take up to 40 minutes.

IMPORTANT: Select a suitable space to park the tractor and lower any implements all the way down to the ground.

No other tractor functions may be used while Parked Filter Cleaning is taking place. Excluded from this are functions that may be required for an emergency shut-down of the tractor.

Do not start exhaust filter cleaning if the fuel gauge has been showing a low fuel level for a long time.

NOTE: Parked Filter Cleaning cannot be initiated if automatic exhaust filter cleaning is already active.

During exhaust filter cleaning, the engine control unit assumes control of the engine functions. It is therefore normal for engine speed to change during the cleaning process.

Initiate Parked Filter Cleaning:

CAUTION: Comply with Clean Exhaust Filter Safely in Section 05.

Exhaust filter cleaning can be interrupted at any time by accelerating, engaging a gear, pressing the cancel button or shutting down the engine.

    Preconditions for Parked Filter Cleaning

    RXA0127501

    Parked Filter Cleaning completed

    Preconditions for Parked Filter Cleaning:
    • Stop the tractor from moving.
    • Set engine speed to low idle.
    • Turn off PTO.
    • Engage Park.

If any of these preconditions are not met, Parked Filter Cleaning will not start.

  6. Select “Next” softkey (B) as soon as the preconditions are met.
  7. Once process is started, a status screen is displayed.

Parked Filter Cleaning take place in two stages, Preparation and Cleaning. During the preparation stage, the engine control unit controls engine speed to increase exhaust temperature. During cleaning, a bar graph is to show progress.

  8. As soon as exhaust filter cleaning is completed, press the “OK” softkey (C).

IMPORTANT: Do not shut off the engine immediately after exhaust filter cleaning. Run the engine for a few minutes at low idle to allow the exhaust system to cool down sufficiently. This is not necessary if it is intended to operate the tractor immediately after exhaust filter cleaning.
