Service Procedure

Every 10 hours or daily

After the first 100 hours

After the first 500 hours and then every 500 hours thereafter

Clean radiator, condenser, and area surrounding the engine

Check coolant level

Check fuel filter

Check engine oil level

Transmission/Hydraulic system - Check oil level

Check leak-off oil containers (if equipped)

Check brakes

Check lights

Front hitch - Lubricate cylinder and three-point hitch (if equipped)

Adjustable front axle - Lubricate grease fittings

Front-wheel drive axle - Lubricate pivot bearing

•*

Front-wheel drive axle - Lubricate all universal joints including universal-jointed shaft from transmission to front-wheel drive axle

Suspended front-wheel drive axle - Lubricate hydraulic cylinder

•*

Lubricate pivoting fenders, and perform operational check

•*

Three-point hitch - Lubricate lift links and rockshaft

•*

Lubricate the rear axle bearings (if equipped)

•*

Retrieve the diagnostic trouble codes, rectify errors, and then delete the diagnostic trouble codes.

 

Open operator's station - Have torques of attaching screws checked by an authorized dealer (see Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Drawbar - Check torque of attaching screws (see Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Front hitch, attaching frame - Check torque of attaching screws (if equipped), (see Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

John Deere™ front loader mounting frame - Check torques of attaching screws (see operator's manual and installation instructions of the front loader)

 

Check air intake hoses for leaks (see Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Change hydraulic oil filter (or whenever the yellow Caution light flashes and corresponding information appears in the instrument panel. See Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Change transmission oil filter (or whenever the yellow Caution light flashes and corresponding information appears in the instrument panel. See Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Front-wheel drive axle - Axle housing, oil change (see Service - Every 1500 Hours or 2 Years).

 

Front-wheel drive axle - Final drives without brake, oil change (see Service - Every 1500 Hours or 2 Years).

 

Front-wheel drive axle - Final drives with brake, oil change (see Service - Every 500 Hours).

 

Check the movement inhibitor

   

PTO actuation - Check safety switch

   

Fuse box - Visually inspect and clean

   

Lights - Check settings of headlights

   

Fuel tank - Drain water and residues

   

Change fuel filter

   

Change engine oil filter

   

Change engine oil

   

Front PTO - Change oil filter (if equipped)

   

Front-wheel drive axle - axle housing, check oil level

   

Front-wheel drive axle - Final drives without brake, check oil level

   

Trailer hitches - Check all components for wear; check that all components function properly

   

Check that all accessible ground cables are secure

   

Engine - Check drive belt for wear (rubbing)

   

Cab - Check all rubber seals of the doors and windows as well as the cable feedthroughs for proper seating, wear, and brittleness

   

Cab - Check function of all closing mechanisms of the doors and windows

   

Cab - Change the activated carbon filter every 500 hours or after 1 year at the latest (if equipped).

   

Have brake system bled and checked by an authorized dealer

   

Service brake, operational check

   

Park lock, operational check

   

Adjustable front axle - Tighten axle bolts

   

Wheels - Front and rear wheels, check torques of attaching screws

   

Wheels - Wheel disk to rim, check torques of attaching screws

   

Wheels - Wheel weights, check torques of attaching screws

   

Wheels - Dual wheel attachment - Check torques of attaching screws (see manufacturer's specifications).

   

Rear PTO - Lubricate PTO stub shaft support (with pivoting PTO stub shaft).

   

Front-axle suspension - Have pressure accumulator checked by an authorized dealer

     

Engine air cleaner - Change the primary filter (whenever the yellow caution light flashes and corresponding information appears in the instrument panel, or every 2 years).

     

Engine - Change filter of oil separator in crankcase vent (if equipped)

     

Transmission - Clean intake screens

     

Transmission/Hydraulic system - Change the oil

     

Front PTO - Change oil (if equipped)

     

Replace cab air filter (always when the primary filter of the engine air cleaner is replaced or every 2 years).

     

Cab - Replace recirculation air filter (always when the primary filter of the engine air cleaner is replaced or every 2 years).

     

Engine - Have valves adjusted by authorized dealer

       

DEF tank vent - Check the filter for incrustations when operating in a particularly dusty environment (every 3 years at the latest).

       

Engine air cleaner - Change the secondary filter (no later than at every fourth change of the primary filter or every 3 years).

         

Have the DEF system serviced by an authorized dealer (or every 3 hears)

• Clean the DEF tank

• Change the filter of the DEF dosing unit

• Replace the suction screen on the DEF tank head1

         

Cooling system - Change the coolant (if COOL-GARD™ II is used and coolant is checked annually)**

           

Change in-line DEF filter (if available)

           

Front-axle suspension - Have pressure accumulator replaced by an authorized dealer

             

* Only necessary when operating the tractor in extremely wet and muddy conditions

** Use of a coolant other than COOL-GARD™ II reduces the service interval to 2000 hours, or, if COOL-GARD™ is used, the service interval is reduced to 3000 hours. Also comply with Section 80, which provides more information on the use of coolant. See also Note Regarding the Service Interval for Engine Coolant in this section.
