Information on Engine Oil Change — Tractors with 4-Cylinder Engine

Change engine oil at least once a year. Service intervals vary depending on the type of engine oil used and the sulfur content of the diesel fuel. When changing engine oil, always change the oil filter.

At every oil change, note the type of oil used in the service record. The next oil change is determined using the table below.

Standard oils

API CJ-4, ACEA E9 or ACEA E6

Only on tractors without aftertreatment (Tier 2 / Stage II)

Oil change intervals in relation to sulfur content and oil quality

Sulfur content of fuel less than 500 mg/kg (15 ppm)

If using Standard Oil

Change oil every 250 hours

If using Premium Oil

Change oil every 500 hours

Fuel sulfur content of 500—5000 mg/kg (500—5000 ppm)

If using Standard Oil

Change oil every 150 hours

If using Premium Oil

Change oil every 400 hours

Fuel sulfur content above 5000 mg/kg (5000 ppm)

If using Standard Oil

Change oil every 125 hours

If using Premium Oil

Change oil every 250 hours

Only on tractors with aftertreatment (Final Tier 4 / Stage IV)
