Change the Coolant - 4-Cylinder Engines

TS281-UN-15APR13
CAUTION: Danger of injury from hot, pressurized coolant. Touching hot surfaces of the cooling system, accessories, or
hoses and leads can cause injury.
Avoid contact with hot surfaces or hot coolant.
Do not open cap (A) of expansion tank before coolant temperature
is below boiling point. First unfasten the cap to relieve pressure,
then remove cap completely.
NOTE: Comply with service interval instructions regarding engine
coolant. The FIRST service interval is 6 years or 6000
hours of operation, provided the cooling system has been improved
exclusively with John Deere COOLGARD II and Premix and the coolant
has been tested at the specified intervals. After initial service,
the SCHEDULED interval (2 years or 2000 hours of operation) can be
extended up to 6 years or 6000 hours of operation depending on coolant
used and if coolant is tested at specified intervals. Comply with
the recommended engine coolant service intervals in Diesel Engine
Coolant in Section 80 of this manual.
