CAUTION: Danger of injury from hot, pressurized coolant.

Touching hot surfaces of the cooling system, accessories, or hoses and leads can cause injury.

Avoid contact with hot surfaces or hot coolant.

Do not open cap (A) of expansion tank before coolant temperature is below boiling point. First loosen the cap to relieve pressure, then remove cap completely.

John Deere COOL-GARD™ II Premix and Concentrate are maintenance-free coolants for up to 6 years or 6000 hours of operation, provided that the cooling system is topped up using only John Deere COOL-GARD II Premix. Test the coolant condition annually with coolant test strips designed for use with John Deere COOL-GARD™ II coolants. If the test strip chart indicates that coolant additive is required, add John Deere COOL-GARD II EXTENDER as instructed.

  1. Open the hood.

  2. First unfasten cap (A) and then take it off.

  3. Test the coolant using COOL-GARD™ II three-way test strips (TY26605), available from your authorized dealer.

  4. NOTE: Follow instructions on back of reader card in test strip pack when testing coolant.

Add TY26603 COOL-GARD™ II Coolant Extender (available from your authorized dealer) as indicated by the color matrix on reader card in test strip pack. If tank is too full, drain a small amount of coolant from system before the coolant additive is added.

NOTE: Visually check cap gasket for sealing effectiveness. A properly functioning gasket should have the imprint of the mating surface but no apparent scratches or leak paths.

  5. If necessary, top up coolant to the maximum mark (B).

  6. Put cap (A) back on and close the hood.
