Tire Combinations - 6145M

IMPORTANT: Avoid excessive power train wear. Do not mix worn and new tires, bias and radial, or tires of different diameters. Do not use R2 tires in combination with R1.

Available tires are grouped by rolling circumference index. Rolling circumference is the distance covered by the tire in one revolution. Tires within a group, regardless of rim size, are the same or nearly the same height. Knowledge and understanding of the rolling circumference index and group size make it easier to select suitable tire combinations for the front and rear wheels.

The rolling circumference index is an important factor for correctly setting up the tractor. Since front tires are smaller than rear tires, front tires have to rotate faster to cover the same distance as the rear. Therefore it is important to select the correct size to optimize efficiency and ensure longer tire life.

The front tire must be from a group that is five group sizes smaller than the rear tire group. Example: if the rear tires are from Group 47, the front tires must be from Group 42. Rim size is irrelevant. Tires with different rim sizes such as 18.4R46 and 20.8R42 belong to the Group with the same rolling circumference, in this case 47. Tire sizes are stated in the tables below.

IMPORTANT: If the tire combination or tire manufacturer is changed, the transmission ratio must be ascertained. See Calculate Tire Combination.

IMPORTANT: If the transmission ratio is to be changed, the following jobs must be performed by your authorized dealer:

• Change the gear pair for the front-wheel drive axle output.
• Change tire size in the software of the control units
• Replace oil sight-glass
