Driving on Public Roads
CAUTION: Avoid personal injury or death from losing control
of tractor. When driving tractor on roads:

Wear Seat Belt

Couple brake pedals together

If equipped, use accelerator pedal instead of throttle lever

Reduce speed when driving on icy, wet, or graveled surfaces

Use correct ballast
-
Avoid holes, ditches, sharp turns, hillsides, and obstructions
that may cause tractor to roll over.

Always pay attention to the traffic behind you, especially in
corners, and use turn signals.

Always operate flashing lights when traveling on a highway or
public road, except where prohibited by law.
Check headlights, flashing warning lights and tail lights before
operating tractor on roads. Adjust rear-view mirrors and clean windows.
CAUTION: To prevent possible personal injury, always switch
on hazard warning lights when traveling on roads, except where prohibited
by law.
Lights—Use headlights and turn
signals day and night. Comply with the legal stipulations for device
lighting and identification. Make sure that the lighting and identification
is visible and in good condition. Make sure that damaged or missing
lights and marking are repaired or replaced immediately. Safety lights
for implements can be obtained from your authorized dealer.
Brakes — Tap brake pedals to
make sure that the differential lock is NOT engaged. Couple brake pedals together before driving on a road. Avoid
hard application of brakes.
Front-wheel drive—Disengage
front-wheel drive when transporting tractor. When driving on roads,
engage Brake Assist position of front-wheel drive switch to provide
four-wheel braking.
Selective control valves (SCVs)—Engage
transport lock to eliminate possibility of control levers being inadvertently
actuated.
Front or Rear Hitch—Position
or lock hitch in transport position to eliminate possibility of lowering
an implement during transport by inadvertently touching the control
lever. (See procedure in "Hitch" section.)
