D - Shut-Off Valve on Front Hitch

CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting the system lines.

If an accident occurs, consult a doctor immediately. Any fluid that penetrates the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene can result.

CAUTION: Avoid injury. Shut off engine, move SCV lever to neutral position and lock out SCV controls before attaching implements to prevent implement movement.

CAUTION: Prior to connecting or separating hydraulic hoses, engage the locking function of the lock lever (A) or locking ring (B) to prevent implement movement and the risk of personal injury.

IMPORTANT: Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age, and exposure. Check hoses regularly.

Any dirt, dust, or other foreign material can damage hydraulic system. Thoroughly clean hydraulic hoses and SCVs before connecting an implement to the tractor.

IMPORTANT: Steam cleaning or using a high pressure washer in the area around the SCV connections and electronics may damage equipment. In the case of high-pressure washers with a pressure of more than 6895 kPa (69 bar) (1000 psi), a min. distance of 200 mm (8 in.) to the connections must be maintained.

NOTE: Hydraulic connections at front of tractor and/or under the right step (if equipped) are operated by the multi-function lever.

Connecting the hydraulic hoses

  1. Lock out SCV controls:

    • Use levers (A) to lock SCV control levers.
    • Use locking ring (B) to lock the multi-function lever (mechanical)1.

  2. Lock shut-off valve (D) on front hitch.

  3. Clean dust caps/plugs.

  4. IMPORTANT: Be sure to connect hydraulic hoses of implements to couplers correctly. If hose connections are reversed, machine will not respond to system controls as expected.

    Assignment of couplers
    on front hitch

    Extend = left port

    Retract = right port

    Open dust caps/plugs to expose ports.

  5. Push hoses firmly into couplers.

Disconnecting hydraulic hoses

CAUTION: Avoid injury. Before detaching implements, lower the implement to the ground and lock out SCV controls to prevent implement movement.

  1. Lower implement to ground.

  2. Move SCVs to float position for a few seconds while engine is running.

  3. Lock out SCV controls:

    • Use levers (A) to lock SCV control levers.
    • Use locking ring (B) to lock the multi-function lever (mechanical)1.

  4. Lock shut-off valve (D) on front hitch.

  5. IMPORTANT: Forcing or jerking SCV hoses when disconnecting can damage hose ends and SCV couplers. If hoses cannot be removed easily, relieve pressure in hydraulic system by putting the SCV in float position for a few seconds with engine running.

    Pull hoses straight out from couplers.

  6. Close dust caps to cover couplers.
