IMPORTANT:
Excessive power can damage an implement and too large an implement can damage the tractor.
Correct clearance must be maintained on implements when attached to the three-point hitch of the tractor. Use a combination of attaching points to achieve the following recommendations.
Measure
implement
attaching points:
Measure distance between lower hitch points (ball centerline).

Cat. 3N
implement distance is 870 mm (34.25 in.)

Cat. 3
implement distance is 1010 mm (39.75 in.)
NOTE:
Spacers may be required for lower hitch points. See your John Deere Dealer.
Measure vertical distance (mast height) between upper hitch point and lower hitch points. Distance must be 685-885 mm (27-34.8 in.).

IMPORTANT:
Interference or damage of front draft link attaching points can occur if dimensions of lower hitch point span exceeds 1010 mm (39.75 in.) and /or if draft link bumpers are incorrectly positioned. (See Converting Hitch Category in this section.)
Interference or damage to tractor SCV's can occur if mast height exceeds 885 mm (34.8 in.)
