Cold Weather Starting With Ether-7710 and 7810

CAUTION: Avoid personal injury and damage to the engine. Inject fluid only while engine is turning. Starting fluid is highly flammable. Follow safety information on the container. Do not carry empty or extra ether cans inside cab.

Observe cautions and starting procedure. (See Starting the Engine.)

Turn key switch to the START engine. After engine begins turning, press ether switch (A) to inject starting fluid. Release the key after engine starts.

NOTE: If starter will not crank the engine or cranks the engine too slowly, see Troubleshooting Section.

Hold ether switch for two or three seconds after engine starts if temperature is below -12°C (20°F). Repeat this step until engine runs without faltering.

IMPORTANT: To assure adequate lubrication, idle engine at approximately 1200 rpm with no load for one to two minutes. Extend this period when operating at temperatures below freezing.

DO NOT operate tractor with excessive dirt in radiator or grille screens. Excessive air restriction could damage viscous fan drive.
