Checking Belt Tensioner

1. Remove belt from alternator pulley using breaker bar (A).

2. Measure 21 mm (13/16 in.) from (B) and put a mark (C) on mounting bracket.

3. Rotate tension arm with torque wrench until marks (B) and (C) are aligned. Torque wrench measurement should be approximately 24 N·m (17 lb-ft). If measurement is not to specification, see your John Deere Dealer.
