Use following guidelines when attaching and using towed scrapers:
-
Follow manufacturers instruction in attaching and using scraper. Most manufacturers provide a drawbar to use with their scraper. If the tractor's drawbar is to be used, the scraper manufacturer should provide a dolly to be used with the scraper to minimize the amount of vertical load on the drawbar. For example, a 10 cu. yard scraper can exert over 6349 kg (14000 lb) vertical load on the drawbar.
|
IMPORTANT:
Under scraper or severe applications, tighten wheel bolts every
2 HOURS
until all cap screws remain at 600 N·m (445 lb-ft).
-
Use shallow cuts, following the manufacturers recommendations, to load the scraper. Using shallow cuts when loading the scraper provides the most efficient use of the tractor's power and steering system.
