Checking Axle Oil Level-Powershift Transmission

Perform Daily or Every 10 Hour service.

Perform the following additional check to ensure axle lube system is working correctly:

Operate engine at 2100 rpm, with transmission in PARK/NEUTRAL position, for at least 5 minutes (or longer with cold oil) to fill axles.

Stop engine and allow the oil level to stabilize in the sight gauge (A) for at least 5 minutes. Recheck level and fill as necessary.

If the oil level is below bottom mark, add HY-GARD Transmission/Hydraulic Oil as specified in Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant Section.

NOTE: Axle circuit is vented through the hydraulic reservoir; remove hydraulic reservoir cap to aid axle filling.

Recheck level and fill as necessary.

NOTE: Transmission oil with a milky or foamy appearance while tractor is running, and after engine is stopped, is normal.
