Connecting Hydraulic Implements

Connecting a hydraulic implement to SCVs is recommended for most of following applications. Power beyond may be required in some applications 1 .

Hydraulic Cylinders:
  • Connect to SCV couplers
  • Adjust flow rate and detent time
Hydraulic Motors:

IMPORTANT: Some motors are not equipped with over-speed protection. Extended operation above recommended speed could cause failure.

Using Selective Control Valves:

  • Connect to SCV
  • Connect motor seal drain line to motor seal drain coupler
  • Connect motor inlet hose to retract SCV coupler
  • Adjust flow rate and set detent time to continuous "C"
  • Connect motor return hose to power beyond return coupler OR connect motor return hose to SCV extend coupler using check valve
  • Operate motor between "retract" and "float"

Using Power Beyond:

  • Power beyond may be used for motor applications which have pressure compensated flow controls 1
Implement Auxiliary Control Valves

See Implement Connection Example 1-Implement Control Valves in this section.

Open or Closed-Center Valves with Unloading Valve:

  • Connect pressure and return line to SCV coupler
  • Adjust flow rate and set detent time to continuous "C"
  • Connect return line to power-beyond return coupler

Closed-Center Valve with Load-Sense Port:

  • Connection to power beyond is recommended.

Closed-Center Valve without Load Sensing:

  • Connect to power beyond 1
  • Connect to SCV

NOTE: Tractor hydraulic system will operate at high pressure. Increased hydraulic oil temperatures may result, if other functions are operating at continuous flow.

Power beyond may be required in some applications 1 :

  • Tractor SCV control is not needed-implement equipped with independent control valve
  • Implement control valve requires external load sense signal to prevent pump operation at high pressure
  • No other SCV outlets are available
