Inspecting Alternator Belt Tensioner

1. Remove belt from alternator pulley using breaker bar.

2. Measure 21 mm (13/16 in.) from tab (A) and put a mark (B) on mounting bracket.

3. Rotate tension arm with torque wrench until marks (A) and (B) are aligned. Torque wrench measurement should be approximately 31 N·m (23 lb-ft). If measurement is not to specification, see your John Deere Dealer.
