Replacing Fan Belt
1.
Remove left and right front side shields.
2.
Rotate tension arm by using a 3/4 in. breaker bar.
3.
With tensioner arm rotated, insert a 4 in. (100 mm) long 3/8 in. (10 mm) bolt through the hole at the front of the fan drive casting. Relaxing the force on the tensioner will allow the pulley to be held by the bolt.
4.
Remove belt from upper and lower pulleys.
5.
Rotate tensioner and remove 4 in. bolt.
6.
Remove belt from tensioner pulley.
7.
Install new belt onto tensioner pulley.
8.
Rotate tensioner and reinstall 4 in. bolt.
9.
Place belt onto upper and lower pulleys. Check that belt is properly positioned on pulleys. See illustration.
10.
Rotate tensioner and remove 4 in. bolt.
