Testing the Coolant

CAUTION: Avoid personal injury. DO NOT remove radiator cap or expansion tank cap when engine is hot. Stop engine and wait until engine has cooled.

Slowly turn expansion tank cap (A) to relieve pressure.

Test coolant using coolant test strips available from your John Deere Dealer.

Add 30 mL per liter (1.0 fl oz per quart) of John Deere Coolant Conditioner if needed. Drain a small amount of coolant from system if conditioner is added.
