Using Rear Weights

causym CAUTION: When installing weights, use appropriate equipment or have the job performed by your John Deere Dealer.

Weights (A) of 75 kg (165 lb) or 210 kg (465 lb) can be installed on inside or outside of wheel. Wheel weights should not be installed on outside of inner wheel when the tractor is equipped with duals, since the combination prevents retightening of the sleeve bolts. Adjusting ballast is easier if some of the ballast is attached to the outside of the outer (dual) wheel.

NOTE: When using 762 mm (30 in.) tread setting, only one 210 kg (465 lb) weight can be installed on inside of wheel.

Install weights on wheel.

Wheel Weight Attaching Bolts - Specification

M16 Bolt -Torque 310 N·m (230 lb-ft)
M20 Bolt -Torque 610 N·m (450 lb-ft)

For additional weights, install bolts in previous weight. Rotate alternate weight to align bolts with weight holes.

Tighten bolts. Retighten after driving approximately 100 meters (100 yd), after 3 HOURS and again after 10 HOURS of operation. Check tightness every 250 hours.

IMPORTANT: Inside wheel weights must have at least 25 mm (1 in.) clearance between weight and tractor components.
