Using the Brakes

CAUTION: Avoid personal injury. Reduce speed if towed load weighs more than the tractor or transporting loads under adverse conditions. Avoid hard braking applications. (See Transporting Section and the implement operator manual).

Brake pedals must be coupled together (A) when operating on roads.

Test brakes with engine stopped to be sure manual brake system is functioning.

Press both pedals to stop tractor while disengaging the clutch.

Use individual brakes to assist in making sharp turns.

IMPORTANT: Avoid unnecessary wear on the brakes. DO NOT rest feet on the brake pedals during tractor operation.

Engage MFWD for four-wheel braking when stopping heavy load. See Using Mechanical Front-Wheel Drive in Operating the Tractor Section.
