IMPORTANT:
If the tractor will not be used for several months, the following recommendations for storage and removal from storage will minimize corrosion and deterioration.
NOTE:
Use Engine Storage Kit available from your John Deere dealer.
Perform the following steps for long-term tractor storage:
1.
Change engine oil and replace filter.
2.
Add 621 mL (21 oz) of corrosion inhibitor to engine crankcase.
3.
Service the air cleaner.
4.
Add 296 mL (10 oz) corrosion inhibitor to the transmission-hydraulic system.
5.
Drain the fuel tank and add back 10 L (2.5 gal) of fuel.
6.
Pour 89 mL (3 oz) of corrosion inhibitor into intake system.
7.
Crank engine a few revolutions.

8.
Seal air inlets, exhaust, crankcase vent tube, crankcase fill cap, fuel tank cap, radiator overflow hose, and transmission-hydraulic system fill cap using plastic bags and tape.
9.
Remove fan belt.
10.
Remove and store batteries in a cool dry location-(keep batteries charged).

Coat all exposed metal surfaces with corrosion inhibitor.
12.
Cover instrument panel, control levers, and seat.
13.
Raise tires off the ground and protect tires from heat and sunlight.
14.
Thoroughly clean the tractor touching up any scratched or chipped painted surfaces.
15.
Lubricate all grease fittings.
16.
Cover the entire tractor with waterproof material if it is to be stored outside.
17.
Rotate A/C compressor pulley several turns once a month to prevent seizure of compressor.
