From the factory, the tractor is programmed to automatically reduce travel speed as the engine is pulled down under load past 1900 (PTO off) or 1950 (With PTO ON) rpm. Under certain conditions it may be desirable to allow the engine to pull down (droop)

even lower than this rpm level. Changing the Auto with or without PTO selection will adjust how much the engine will droop before reducing travel speed.

Auto with PTO is used to adjust how much the engine will droop under a load before the transmission downshifts automatically while using a PTO.

Auto - No PTO is used to adjust how much the engine will droop under a load before the transmission downshifts automatically without a PTO activated.

NOTE: Changes to Auto - No PTO will affect AutoPowr mode selector positions 1,2, and 3.

  • 1750 rpm-540E and 1000E PTO

  • 1950 rpm-1000 PTO

Both AUTO 2 and AUTO 3 are fuel economy settings. AUTO 2 is used in conjunction with switch position 2 to adjust minimum engine speed when operating with a heavy load. See Auto 2 Options table for a list of selections to choose from. The default engine rpm setting in AUTO 2 is 1500 rpm.
