Changing MFWD Axle Housing Oil

SERVICE INTERVAL - 1500 HOURS

 

1. Remove plugs (A-D).

2. Install plugs (A and C) after oil has drained. Tighten to specifications.

3. Add John Deere HY-GARD oil as specified in MFWD AXLE HOUSING AND WHEEL HUB OIL in Fuel, Lubricants and Coolant section, through fill hole (B) until oil is even with bottom of hole (D).

Specification

Axle Housing -Capacity 14.4 L (15.2 qt)

4. Install plugs (B and D).

5. After a few minutes of operation, recheck oil level. Add more if necessary.

6. Apply pipe sealant with TEFLON, or equivalent, to threads of plug (D).

7. Install plugs and tighten to specifications.
