Replacing Fuel Filter - 8.1 L Engine

SERVICE INTERVAL - 500 HOURS or ANNUALLY

 

1. Thoroughly clean filter exterior surface and mounting area.

NOTE: Use a catch pan when draining fuel or when removing filter from the tractor.

2. Drain fuel from secondary filter (A) and primary filter (B) by opening drain valves (C).

3. Close drains.

4. Unplug connector (D) to water-in-fuel sensor.

5. Remove filters from tractor. Additional fuel will drain from filter housings.

6. Install filler cup (A) on new filters (B).

IMPORTANT: Avoid fuel system contamination. Do not pour fuel directly into filter without filler cup installed. Injection pump could seize.

7. Fill filter with fuel. Filter does not have to be completely full.

8. Remove and dispose of filler cup.

9. Install new secondary filter (A) and primary filter (B) on tractor. Hand tighten plus an additional quarter turn.

10. Connect sensor (C).

11. Start tractor.
