Towing Tractor
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damaging transmission-hydraulic system:
NEVER ATTEMPT TO START TRACTOR BY TOWING. Engine will not start, and transmission might be damaged.
If possible, operate engine at 1600 rpm to provide lubrication, power steering and power brakes. Have an operator steer and brake tractor. Do not tow faster than 16 km/h (10 mph).
CAUTION:
Avoid personal injury and/or damage to tractor. For IVT tractors, using tire size combinations outside correct parameters could cause tractor instability while towing loads. Never exceed difference in front/rear tires stated in Tire Combination Guidelines, Wheels Tires and Treads section.
CAUTION:
Avoid personal injury or death. Disconnect MFWD drive shaft (A) if towing tractor with front wheels on carrier. Loss of electrical power or transmission/hydraulic system pressure will engage MFWD and pull tractor off carrier, even with switch in the disengaged position.
Check transmission-hydraulic oil level. Level must be between the marks.
If towing with front wheels off ground, add 4 L (1 gal) for each 152 mm (6 in.) wheels are raised. DO NOT raise front wheels more than 305 mm (12 in.).
Tap brake pedals to make sure differential lock is not engaged.
Move shift lever (B) to NEUTRAL position.
